COMPANY PROFILE & HISTORY

H G Higginson was established in 1961 by Mr Harry Higginson, following a move from SAFT Ltd,
manufacturers of Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting equipment and became their major distributor within the south east of England

Following this success, the Company expanded and became distributors for many other manufacturers and products, exclusively used
in Fire Detection and Emergency Lighting systems, purchasing direct from Manufacturers for the supply to the Trade.

It was apparent then, as it is even more today, that there was a requirement to specialise in order to offer the Client;
Consultant; Contractor and End user our personal professional and expert advice, in tailoring Fire Detection Systems
to comply with British Standard Specifications and financial budgets.

In 1989 the Company was purchased by John Tofield, who with the Trade Contacts and his own Contacts compiled over some 29 years,
in the Electrical Contracting Industry, embarked on a gradual expansion program, adding Servicing, Repairs and Commissioning of Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting Systems to the Company’s portfolio, offering personal contact from initial enquiry, to completion of new, extended and/or refurbished systems, with a full Maintenance Contract available, following Commissioning by our own engineers
carried out to British Standard recommendations.

The Company supplies to the Trade, Public Authorities and offers Retail Sales direct to Clients with full manufactures warranty
and in addition, provides our own warranty for twelve months, with on site replacements by our Field Engineers.

The Company also offers a Commissioning and Certification facility, for both Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting systems.
Repairs to existing systems are also undertaken by our service engineers, on any type of system, irrespective of Manufacture.

Over the past few years, the Company has secured many Maintenance Contracts and with the additional facility of the Installation of
Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting systems now offered to existing and new Customers has grown from strength to strength.

Suppliers to:- the above Councils; London Boroughs; Local Authorities; Surrey Police Authority; Surrey Fire & Rescue Services;
Surrey Magistrates Authority; NHS Trusts; Private Companies and Electrical Contractors.

Maintenance Contracts for:- Surrey Fire & Rescue establishments; Surrey Police Authority; Surrey Magistrates Courts; Social Services Departments; Surrey Adult Education Establishments; Surrey Libraries; Private and state Schools & Colleges; Reigate and Banstead Borough Council; Mole Valley District Council and many other Commercial and Industrial Premises, including Homes for the Elderly.

The Company’s reputation of efficient professional service over the past forty years has produced a database built on Customer loyalty.

With programmed expansion, producing sound, sustainable growth, over the last twelve years, H G Higginson has become a small, Independent Private Company offering a good Professional service to all it’s Customers.

Due to natural expansion, growth, long term sustainability and development of the Company on 1st March 2006.
H G Higginson (partnership) became a Limited Company with two new directors, and relocated to new premises.
